Making wet felt

Decided to do some wet felting today.  As always, we wasted ages rummaging in our boxes of stash, idling over what colours to choose and eventually came up with a plan.  Here's our colour scheme for today...

Often we favour pink and green so thought it would be a good idea to be adventurous and try something a bit different!

We started with a base of white and then added broad stripes of coloured fleece on top, first a layer of dark colours, then lighter colours on top.  Then we added some textured yarns and silky bits.  (Not really any design, just playing!)

Et voila!

We're really pleased with the resulting felt and it will possibly be made into a bag (watch this space....)

Hello, thanks for visiting our new blog.  We are not totally sure what we are doing here yet…but we’re sure we’ll figure it out!    

For many years we (me - Annie, and my mum) have enjoyed all kinds of crafts from sewing and knitting, to felt making and glass fusing.  We’ve read many other blogs with interest and are wowed by the many talented people out there.  We have just formed a new mum and daughter venture called “rosiepink” that we hope will provide an outlet for our creative makings!  There is only so much you can keep in your own home and we are both at a point in our lives when we have realised there is more to life than doing a job you hate, so why not try and do something fun!  If it all goes wrong, at least we tried.  After much deliberation (and a lot of trepidation!) we finally opened our Etsy shop so we feel as if we have made an important step.

To be honest we’re both quite nervous about the whole thing - but we're sure we will be OK because between us we have many years of creative experience, buckets of enthusiasm and a love of all things textiles and glass!

Hopefully, if nothing else, you will enjoy reading our ramblings and seeing what we get up to.  Hopefully too, we can share what we find out along the way, and give something back.
